Fortunately, Tucson has (for the most part) a sunny January. If you're looking for some peace, quiet, and botanical beauty this season, I've found that Tohono Chul Park has all of this and more to offer. The eclectic combination of contemporary art, creative gardens, and tasty food offerings make this retreat from the Tucson concrete jungle an oasis. Many of the gardens have unique themes, such as the enchanting Children's Garden or the fascinating Sin Agua (Without Water) Garden.
The Tohono Chul Tea Room crafts breakfast, lunch, brunch and afternoon tea with an eye toward supporting local food suppliers. My favorite (of course) is the prickly pear margarita. The green chile carnitas are no slouches, either.
